How To Prepare For The Rise Of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence)

Besides ourselves (nukes), AGI is arguably the biggest threat to humanity. The reasons should now be obvious, so I won’t bore you with the why (if it’s not obvious, ask ChatGPT). But what isn’t discussed are suggestions on how to endure and prepare for the disruption it will cause once omnipresent.

Here are ways to prepare:

  • Interact with it! Gradually integrate it into all areas of your life that it makes sense to. Become more productive and free. Knowing how to use these tools and work with them will be essential for work.
  • Adapt. Be open-minded.
  • Discipline your mind — meditate, fast, run, etc.
  • Have gold and or BTC. Be financially prepared for economic darkness and unemployment. Saving in fiat will work against you (https://stefanglover.com/fiat-crisi/) and UBI (Universal Basic Income) may or may not be a thing.
  • Educating yourself on potential dangers to mitigate shock impact.
  • Physically train to be able to protect yourself and your family. You never know how overwhelmed minds may respond to disruption. Violence and chaos are a possibility. I’m not an advocate for violence, but defensive tools may be something to practice with.
  • Invest in AI companies.
  • Rethink your purpose. This may be the biggest thing as AGI will leave many jobless. It can be horrible, but with the right perspective, it can also be great. We can rethink what it means to be human.
  • Embrace your feelings. Be graceful with yourself and those around you.
  • Discover/deepen who you are outside of your work. Create, dance, explore, play, love, imagine.
  • Understand that pushing back against the integration of AGI may lead to useful regulation. However, it could be inefficient IF you’re not simultaneously making adjustments to your life. Voice your concerns, but do not be your worst enemy because of stubbornness.
  • Artificially engineer hardship. Eat boring repetitive meals, practice minimalism, go a day, week, or month without something you love (phone, music, etc.), take ice baths/ cold showers, etc. This builds confidence and mental endurance capabilities.
  • Reduce your spending habits. Nothing is certain except that tens of millions of people will lose those jobs… if not more.
  • Do breathing exercises.
  • Be hopeful, kind, and find your peace.

Most of all. Remember we’re all in this together. It will inevitably be imposed on us globally. There’s no timeline or clear regulatory measures. Some say 2024, 2030, 2049, and some say we’ll keep redefining what AGI is, pushing back the arrival date, in denial until its embodiment. Get connected and participate with available tools! If you need to know what some cool tools or ideas to integrate are, hit me up or ChatGPT.
